I like the term NSFW (not safe for work). It’s a way of flagging a link as having (sexually) explicit content, without being judgemental. There is no moralizing in stating that some content is unlikely to be suitable at your place of employment.

The most recent issue of the Swedish web comic book babian.se is definitely NSFW. All comics except one are also in Swedish… But maybe you can look at Swedish pictures even if you can’t read Swedish.

Jag gillar förkortningen NSFW (not safe for work). Den placeras ofta efter länkar till material som är sexuellt till sin natur och därför kanske inte passar så bra att besöka på jobbet. Förkortningen kan användas för att förvarna besökaren men är ändå inte moraliserande. Det ligger ju faktiskt inget dömande i att konstatera att vissa saker fungerar mindre bra på en arbetsplats än andra.

Det senaste numret av babian.se är i alla fall ett solklart fall av NSFW. Temat för nummer 18 är sex och delar av innehållet är ganska explicit. Bra är det i alla fall…

babian.se (NSFW)

Just nu pågår alternativseriefestivalen Alt Com i Malmö. Jag är tyvärr inte där, men jag får rapporter från Micke Sol som är där och representerar babian.se.

Däremot är jag med i antologin som ges ut i samband med festivalen. Temat är sex och krig, och det är många spännande tecknare som medverkar. Det ska bli kul att se hur den blir.

France To Ban Masked Superheroes – UK To Follow?

Här är ett antal seriealbum som är så bra att jag vill rekommendera alla att läsa dem. Det är ett slags Adams seriekanon kan man säga. Det skulle vara 10 stycken, men det visade sig vara omöjligt. Det är inte heller de enda oundgängliga serierna, eller nödvändigtvis de bästa.

Analys: Om det verkar som om en stor del av min seriesmak formades under nittiotalet. Amerikanska alternativserier är överrepresenterade och kvinnliga serietecknare är underrepresenterade. Så det går att göra fler listor…

Tillägg: Egentligen kommer man långt med att bara kolla vilka som har fått urhundenpriset.

Pappaledigheten närmar sig sitt slut nu när min son ska inskolas på dagis.

Det har inte varit som i Maria Liberts serie Hemmapappan (mer än att jag har varit lite orakad emellanåt), men det har varit lärorikt, mysigt, jobbigt och underbart om vartannat. Jag kommer att sakna att få hänga med junioren hela dagarna…

Men den som kom på namnet föräldraledig vet inte vad det handlar om.

unhappiness, suffering, and other kinds of pain.

In short, DYSTOPIA is a series of comic short stories about the dark
future that may be coming, or the one that is already here. These books
will contain science fiction, cyberpunk, horror, current political
subjects and other stories that fit into the concept.

We want these stories to move their readers and we want them to matter. To
warn us and help us chose a better future for ourselves.

SUBMISSIONS
We accept submissions from anyone who has something interesting to say on
the subject, after the following specifications:
-Each book can be one story (24 pgs max) or be done as a split, a flip
book between two artists if the stories are shorter.
-The format is 140x182mm.
-Both color and black & white is acceptable.
-DYSTOPIA will be made in two editions (Swedish and English). If you can’t
do both versions yourself, we can help you with the translation.
-Send digital material. Line art should be 1200dpi. Gray or color should
be at least 300dpi.
-.TIF is a good file format. .JPG is bad (don’t use if avoidable). If you
aren’t sure, ask us for advice.
-Questions, submissions or ideas for submissions to mattias @ elftorp .
com (delete the spaces).

Unfortunately, we can’t pay anyone for their contributions at this stage.
Participants will get 5 copies for a full book and 3 copies each for a
split. Language optional.

There are no deadlines. Simply send us stories and if we accept them we
will publish them as we go along, depending on our situation when it comes
to time and money.

Så här 20 år efter Berlinmurens fall kan det vara läge att påminna om att vi fortfarande lever i en tid av murar. Därför ”återtrycker” jag denna serie som har publicerats i Wonderful Comics nummer 10 och en serietidning som gavs ut av asylgruppen i Malmö.
